Jewels in Her Crown
Jewels in Her Crown is a play written by Toni Thomas to honor women in the scriptures, starting with the first woman, Eve. It is a play celebrating their joys and sorrows, triumphs and trials, and helps us see that their challenges were very much like our own. The image of a crown is taken from Malachi 3:17, "And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him." We read in Zechariah 9:16, "And the Lord their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land." I composed the music for this play which was an exciting adventure because the music covers an array of emotions we face as women.
